If the book was meant to provide a quick overview of American history as a two week long introduction to more profound study it would rate 5 stars. But this book is being used as a textbook to present the totality of American history to high school students/5.

American History's not easy. Not if you want to delve into more than the surface facts. But this book makes it more approachable. Not fun, but satisfying. And my student grasped the main facts and was able to make better connections after we worked with this book.
